Deftones have performed an electrifying cover of The Smiths‘ ‘Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want’ during their Coachella 2024 set.

While taking over the outdoor theatre during their debut set at this year’s edition of Coachella, Chino Moreno and co. jumped right into the 1984 Smiths track following their performance of ‘Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away)’.

The band rarely perform their cover of the indie classic which was featured in their 2011 compilation album simply titled ‘Covers’. The LP also saw Deftones take on tracks from the likes of Sade, The Cars, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Duran Duran and more.

Elsewhere in their set, the band performed ‘Combat’ from their fifth studio LP ‘Saturday Night Wrist’, marking the first time they have played the track live since 2011.

Fans also took the time to comment on the camera work for the band’s live stream, with one twitter user comparing it to a film being directed by Michael Bay and another fan claimed that the “Camera crew gonna give me fucking vertigo with their bullshit”

Deftones played at Coachella 2024:

‘Genesis’
‘Rocket Skates’
‘Tempest’
‘Swerve City’
