Zhamira Zambrano Earns First Latin Pop Airplay Top 10 With Jay Wheeler Collab ‘Extrañándote’

Venezuelan singer Zhamira Zambrano nabs her first top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Airplay chart with the Jay Wheeler collab “Extrañándote,” as the song rallies 12-4 on the Feb. 17-dated list.

Zambrano’s second single from her forthcoming debut album enters the top tier on the Latin pop radio chart in its second week, with 2.7 million audience impressions, up 41%, earned in the U.S. during the Feb. 2-8 tracking week, according to Luminate.

“The song emerged organically in the studio, just as it did with ‘Dícelo,'” Zambrano tells Billboard. “We wanted to do something more upbeat than a ballad and that’s how ‘Extrañandote’ came to be, as always, aimed at love and heartbreak and that’s why many people relate. I’m super happy to know that people have made it their own.”

As “Extrañándote” advances, it gives Zhambrano her second top 10 on a Billboard chart. The singer scored her first top 10 performance with “Estrellita” as the bachata track peaked at No. 4 on Tropical Airplay (chart dated Dec. 30).

Wheeler, meanwhile, collects his third top 10 ranking among five chart visits. Prior to “Extrañándote,” the Puerto Rican singer placed a No. 8 high entry on Latin Pop Airplay through “Sos” in April 2023. The move also gives Dynamic Records its second top 10 on the chart, after securing its first top 10 with the latter.

Elsewhere, “Extrañándote” makes its debut on the overall Latin Airplay tally at No. 49, marking Zambrano’s second entry after “Estrellita” peaked at No. 43 (chart dated Feb. 10).

“Knowing that I am in the top five for the first time is crazy!” Zambrano adds. “Having found out on February 14, a very special day for us, was very exciting and I am super grateful to all the people who have given it support. This doesn’t happen to everyone and that it’s happening to me alongside my husband is a great blessing.”
