Will ‘The Buccaneers’ get a season three?

The Buccaneers season 2

The extravagant and steamy affairs of English high society make a return in the second season of The Buccaneers.

Created by Katherine Jakeways and based on the unfinished novel by Edith Wharton, the historical drama series follows five wealthy and ambitious American women as they navigate culture clashes and love affairs among the London elite.

Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe, Aubri Ibrag, Josie Totah, Imogen Waterhouse, Mia Threapleton, and Christina Hendricks all reprise their roles, alongside newcomers Leighton Meester, Greg Wise, Jacob Ifan, Grace Ambrose and Maria Almeida.

After the first season debuted in November 2023 on Apple TV+, the second season premiered on June 18, 2025.

At the time of writing, Apple has not announced whether the show will return for a third season. A decision will likely be made once season two concludes on August 6, 2025.

However, early signs are promising – with the second season attracting largely positive reviews on aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes.

Showrunner Katherine Jakeways hasn’t ruled it out either. “In terms of season three we’re just concentrating on season two at the moment,” she told TechRadar. “There’s lots of excitement about where the characters could go and being in that world.”
