Watch Robert De Niro meet The Wiggles

Robert De Niro

Hollywood icon Robert De Niro met legends of the children’s entertainment world, when he recently took his daughter Gia to meet The Wiggles.

The Goodfellas actor attended a meet and greet with the band with two-year-old Gia, as well as his partner Tiffany Chen, prior to the act’s New York City concert on Saturday (June 28). The Australian music group then chatted with their visitors as well as singing several songs, including the nursery rhyme ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, which De Niro sang along with.

A video of the meeting was posted on The Wiggles’ official TikTok, with the caption: “It was such a thrill to spend some time with the legendary Robert De Niro and his family before our concert here in New York City”.

Performing since 1991, The Wiggles remain popular with generations of families, and have collaborated with some big names in the music and entertainment world. In January 2025, it was revealed that Dolly Parton and Orville Peck were set to appear on the bands’ new country album, ‘Wiggle Up, Giddy Up!’, which released in March.

Parton recorded the song ‘Counting 1 To 5’ for the album, a reimagining of her classic hit ‘9 To 5’. “Well, I just wiggled my way out into the Wiggles’ world!” Parton said in a statement about the collaboration. “I had so much fun being a part of this project, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we have”.

As for Robert De Niro, he had a wholesome interaction with longtime collaborator Martin Scorsese, taking part in the #GoodnightBro TikTok trend with the director, who seemed bemused by the call but played along despite not knowing the context.

At last month’s Tribeca Film Festival, the actor recited Billy Joel lyrics and wished him a “speedy recovery” at the premiere of the singer’s documentary, which he was too ill to attend.
