“It’s the last word and I’m having …” the singer-dancer declares, frustrated as she attempts to figure out the last word in the “Before and After” phrase.

“If you don’t know the last word, they why would you try to solve it?” host Pat Sajak wonders.

“I’d rather spin!” the Grammy winner concedes as fellow contestant Matt Rogers cheers her on.

After barely missing the “Bankrupt” spot on the wheel, Abdul selects a consonant, but it didn’t help her much. After mouthing some words to herself, she begins her guess. “The good … the bad and the ugly …” As she trails off, Abdul suddenly lets out an agonized, frustrated scream that’ll leave views hearts cold. “Aaaaauuuuggggggghhhhhh!!!!”

“Uhhh … that is incorrect!” quips Sajak.

The special holiday-themed episode also features comedian Lil Rel Howery competing against the singer and the actor. But rather than playing for cash and prizes for themselves, the stars are instead playing to benefit charities. Abdul is playing for WigsAndWishes.org, which works with salons to give women who are battling cancer wigs, and also grants wishes to children fighting cancer. Rogers is competing to benefit Story Pirates Changemakers, which brings kids’ stories and ideas to life through collaborations with comedians and musicians. Howery is playing for the MAAFA Redemption Project — started by his cousin — which works with young Black and Brown men in the Chicago area to provide job training, spiritual and character development and more to help them become leaders in their communities.

Watch Billboard‘s exclusive clip of Abdul’s attempt to solve a holiday-themed Celebrity Wheel of Fortune puzzle above, and tune in when the show airs Dec. 13 at 9 p.m. on ABC. (Episodes are available on demand on Hulu the day after they air.)
