In a TikTok posted ahead of her Wednesday (Feb. 28) show in Austin, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter sports a purple cowboy hat and springs in and out of a hollow, oversized birthday cake prop to the beat of Bey’s new hit “Texas Hold ‘Em.” At the end, she crawls toward the camera and tips her hat at followers.

“austin tonight!!! luv u texas 🤪🤪🤪,” she captioned the clip.

Rodrigo’s show at Austin’s Moody Center came one day after she performed in Bey’s home city, Houston, at the Toyota Center, delivering an energetic pop-punk showcase featuring tracks from both her debut album Sour and her 2023 sophomore effort Guts. On Friday (March 1), she’ll bring the trek to Dallas at the American Airlines Center.

The “Drivers License” musician is just the latest creator to make a video set to “Texas Hold ‘Em,” which recently peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its second week on the chart. Earlier this week, TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Taehyun and HueningKai shared a video of themselves trying out a hoedown-esque dance trend designed around the track, a snippet of which has been used well over 300,000 times on TikTok.

The Guts World Tour kicked off Feb. 23 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, Calif., marking the beginning of Rodrigo’s largest trek so far. Openers The Breeders, PinkPantheress, Chappell Roan and Remi Wolf will join her on different dates of the six-month run, which will find the former High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star traveling across North America and Europe through mid August.
