Watch hundreds of ticketless Oasis fans scale new security fences to see Manchester Heaton Park gig
Hundreds of ticketless Oasis fans have been filmed scaling the new security fences to try and catch a glimpse of the band performing at Heaton Park. Check out footage below.
The measures were put in place as Liam and Noel Gallagher headed to their Manchester hometown last week for the first of their five huge shows at Heaton Park. Hundreds of fans who were unable to get tickets headed to a nearby hill – which been dubbed ‘Gallagher Hill’ – where they could see the large screens showing the homecoming shows.
However, a dampener was soon put on this when the Manchester City Council said that the site had been fenced off to “dissuade people from gathering there,” protecting livestock and recently planted trees.
Despite the efforts from the council, that hasn’t stopped some eager fans from scaling the fences to listen to the gig from a distance. In new footage shared from last night (16), where Oasis played their third show in the city, hundreds of fans were spotted either trying to climb the fences or making their way up trees to try and see the screens from the venue.
Some even went as far as bringing their garden chairs to the area, settling down for the night (as per LadBible).
Police arrive at Gallagher Hill in attempt to get people down from the fence, but ultimately lining the fence to prevent more people climbing up. Shortly after Oasis took the stage at Heaton Park.

Isnt it time to stop battling it and let people enjoy themselves after some tough years! Get that fence down for Saturday and it’ll avoid accidents @oasis pic.twitter.com/FwC9dnBCHH— Jeff (@jeffjeffIles) July 17, 2025
When announcing the security measures, Councillor John Hacking, Executive Member for Employment, Skills and Leisure, said: “As you would expect given the size of the concerts […] we go through a continuous process with partners of re-assessing the plans in place for the concerts to ensure both public safety and that any environmental impact on our award-winning park is minimalised.”
“The steps being taken ahead of the next concert regretfully mean the distant view of the large screens behind the event stage will no longer be there,” he added. “Unfortunately our hand has been forced in having to put these additional measures in place to protect the very recent extensive planting of young trees in that location as we try to establish a new woodland area in the park, and the wellbeing of our cattle herd in the field, as well as to keep people in the park safe.”
As for those without tickets, he advised them to “head into the city centre instead”, where “the whole city is going all out to celebrate and help everyone have a good time.”

While some tried to defy the restrictions put in place, others went to The Ostrich pub, across the road from Heaton Park, where they could listen to the gig.
Some got more creative, trying their hand at using “fake accreditation” to get in – which led to six arrests from Greater Manchester Police – and some others have tried to force their way through a perimeter fence.
NME gave the band’s first show of the tour in Cardiff a glowing five-star review: “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century.”
“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits,” it added.
In other Oasis news, earlier this week it was reported that a teenage boy appeared in court after allegedly planning an attack at the first show of their reunion tour. The prosecution said that the 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, shared praise for Southport killer Axel Rudakubana.
