Want to take part in this year’s Glastonbury flashmob? Watch the Theatre and Circus dance tutorial for Nile Rodgers & Chic’s ‘Le Freak’

Nile Rodgers of Chic, 2025

Glastonbury has shared the flashmob dance for 2025, and it is set to Nile Rodgers & Chic‘s ‘Le Freak’. Check out the dance tutorial below.

The flashmob has become a tradition for the iconic festival over the years, and was introduced back in 2014 – celebrating the likes of Dolly Parton, David Bowie, Shania Twain and Kylie Minogue.

This year, it is coming back and will celebrate the huge 1979 disco hit from Nile Rodgers & Chic.

A post was shared by festival organisers, showing those at the Theatre & Circus area unveiling a new tutorial that punters can learn ahead of the 2025 event.

The iconic festival will be returning to Worthy Farm in Somerset next week, and running between June 25 and 29. Headliners are Neil Young, The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo on the Pyramid Stage, and Loyle Carner, Charli XCX and The Prodigy on the Other Stage. Rod Steward will be playing Sunday’s Legend’s Slot, and Nile Rodgers & Chic will take to the stage shortly afterwards. Glastonbury will take a fallow year in 2026.

In the new video, choreographer Lauren Filer and her team are shown teaching some basic dance moves which capture the song’s disco spirit. Check it out below.

The first flashmob will be held on Thursday (June 26) from 4pm at The Gateway in Theatre and Circus, and the second will happen in front of Nile Rodgers and co. as they play on the Pyramid Stage on Sunday (29) between 6pm and 7pm.

It was first revealed that Nile Rodgers & Chic would be performing at Glasto ‘25 last November, when the singer shared by accident that the band would also be returning to the site while accepting an award.

He let the news slip when he discussed his friendship with Rod Stewart – who will be performing in the slot before Chic. “We’re going to have a blast because we follow him directly,” he said. “Rod and I have been friends for 80 gazillion years, so that means he’s gonna play tricks on me… He’s probably gonna pinch my bum, because he always does that. I don’t know what the hell he gets out of that.”

With gates set to open in just over a week’s time, it looks like we’re in for a sunny and dry edition of Glasto this year. On top of that, bookies have been sharing their odds for the number of secret sets scheduled.

There is a mysterious band called “Patchwork” who will be playing at the Pyramid Stage on Saturday, as well as ‘TBA’ slots at the Pyramid stage and Woodsies on Friday, and a Saturday gap at the Park Stage in between Gary Numan and Beth Gibbons.

Those with the best chance of making an appearance are Pulp, HAIM and Lorde, and other names rumoured include Ed Sheeran, Mumford & Sons, Lewis Capaldi, Robbie Williams and Radiohead.
