Trivium blame Bullet For My Valentine’s Matt Tuck for ending co-headline tour early: “He has no respect for us or our crew”
Trivium have hit out against Bullet For My Valentine‘s Matt Tuck for ending their co-headline tour early.
The metal band were in the middle of their huge co-headline tour with Bullet For My Valentine to celebrate the joint 20th anniversaries of their respective albums ‘The Poison’ and ‘Ascendancy’.
They were about to conclude the North America leg of their tour before jetting off to Australia and South America. However, it appears those plans have been scrapped, with BFMV set to leave once the North American leg is over.
Over the weekend, Trivium shared a post with an edited tour flyer reading “‘The Poisoned Ascendancy’ Farewell Tour”. Bassist Paolo Gregoletto claimed in a livestream posted to Reddit that BFMV frontman Matt Tuck pulled out of the tour early as he “didn’t want to do it”.
“I think it would have been amazing. I think ‘The Poison’ is a great album. I think the two records pair very well together. And I think it would have been nice to give everyone around the world a chance to see the two together.”
In a further TikTok, Gregoletto made a video with the caption: “When you make your first TikTok live and piss off the other band you are on tour with… #JusticeForSouthAmerica”. When one commenter noted the matters should have been handled behind closed doors, Gregoletto responded: “He’s the sole decision maker of the band and he has no respect for us or our crew.”
NME have approached Bullet For My Valentine for comment.

We spoke to Trivium’s frontman Matt Heafy and Tuck himself to talk about the upcoming tour last year.
At the time, Tuck called the tour a “well-deserved victory lap”, adding that both bands “deserved” the chance to celebrate their legacies. “We never had the chance to really take in what was happening at the time,” he explained, continuing: “This tour almost didn’t happen because we were so focused on making a new album and touring that. That’s how we’re wired, that’s what we’ve always done.
“But after talking about it, we realised that if we didn’t take this opportunity, we’d always regret it. 20 years is a long time to be making an impact. A 20th anniversary is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, but to celebrate that alongside Trivium just makes it more special.”
Elsewhere, Heafy confirmed last summer that Trivium have no plans to work on new music, and were apparently ready to take a hiatus following a 2023 tour.
