The Weeknd to Make Late Night Interview Debut on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’

The Weeknd is finally giving an interview after hours, with the hitmaker heading to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for his first-ever couch conversation on a late-night talk show next week.

As announced by NBC and shared exclusively with Billboard Friday (May 9), the musician born Abel Tesfaye will make his late-night interview debut on the program on May 15. In addition to chatting with Fallon for the first time ever, the “Blinding Lights” singer will also perform.

Tesfaye’s appearance on the show will come four months after he dropped his fourth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. A companion film of the same name starring the musician, Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan is set to premiere in theaters May 16, one day after Tesfaye’s Tonight Show stint.

Also on Friday, the “Save Your Tears” artist is set to kick off his 2025 run of After Hours Til Dawn Tour dates, starting in Glendale, Ariz., at State Farm Arena. The leg will see him going back and forth between the United States and Canada for the next four months or so, ending Sept. 3 in San Antonio, Texas.

As evidenced by next week marking the first time he’s done an interview of the sort in his decade-plus career, Tesfaye has largely steered clear of the late-night scene. In 2019, he performed on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, shortly after which he sang on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs from 11:35 p.m. to 12:35 a.m. ET/PT on NBC. It’s also available on demand on Peacock.
