The Eagles’ Joe Walsh Signs Publishing Deal With Reservoir

Reservoir Media has signed Joe Walsh to a global publishing agreement. The deal encompasses both hits from his catalog — including those he wrote for his solo project as well as the Eagles and James Gang — and future works. It does not include the administration of his back catalog aside from select songs, including “A Life of Illusion,” “In The City,” “Life In The Fastlane” and “Life’s Been Good.”

The Kansas-born frontman, songwriter and guitarist first made his mark on the music industry as part of the band James Gang. Acting as its singer and one of its songwriters, Walsh’s first three albums with the group all charted on the Billboard 200 in the late ’60s and early ’70s. James Gang hits co-written by the musician include “Funk #49” and “Walk Away.”

Walsh rocketed to superstardom when he joined the Eagles in 1975, just as the band was writing and recording its blockbuster album, Hotel California. Since then, Walsh has made an indelible mark on the band’s sound with his trademark guitar style and songwriting contributions. Among other songs, he played a key role in writing “Life in the Fastlane” and “In The City.”

Walsh has also released eleven solo albums to date, including The Smoker You Drunk, The Player You Get and But Seriously Folks. Hit songs from his solo catalog include “Rocky Mountain Way,” “Life’s Been Good” and “A Life of Illusion.”

Walsh was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 alongside his Eagles bandmates.

“It is such a pleasure to be partnered with a team who are hands on and personal and who have shown their passion for and dedication to my work,” said Walsh in a statement. “I look forward to a great partnership and future with Reservoir.”

Reservoir executive vp/global creative director Donna Caseine added, “As a member of one of the most influential and best-selling bands of all time and as front man and hitmaker of the critically acclaimed James Gang, Joe’s expansive catalog is one that will continue to connect with listeners for a long time to come. It is an honor to partner with Joe and we look forward to supporting him in all his future endeavors.”
