Tennis ace and Wimbledon semi-finalist Taylor Fritz has confirmed he’s also a highly-ranked League Of Legends player.

Taylor Fritz is the fifth best male Tennis player in the world according to current rankings, and is flexing his skills during this year’s Wimbledon. Yesterday (July 8) Fritz defeated Karen Khachanov in the quarter finals and will now face Carlos Alcaraz tomorrow (July 10) for a spot in the final.

However Fritz has also confirmed he’s brilliant at online multiplayer battle arena game League Of Legends.

Yesterday Wimbledon shared an Instagram post, officially welcoming Fritz to the semi finals. One fan used the post to remind people that the Tennis ace had also achieved a Platinum 2 rank in League Of Legends. “Emerald 3*. Don’t disrespect me like that,” replied Fritz.

Emerald 3 is the tenth highest rank in League Of Legends, putting Fritz in the top 12 per cent of players.

Sharing his Wimbledon victory on X, Fritz added: “Someone on League Of Legends told me to touch grass, so I did.”

Speaking in an interview last year, Fritz said: “It’s one of the things I enjoy; to grind and play when I’m not playing (tennis). I’m such a competitive person so I like to compete in other ways.”

However, he went on to confirm that playing League Of Legends isn’t a part of his pre-tennis preparations. “It sounds crazy, but League Of Legends – and especially the position I play in the game – is very mentally taxing and mentally draining. I have to be super dialed in.”

Netflix’s celebrated League Of Legends animated show Arcane wrapped up last year after two seasons but bosses have already teased more shows are on the way.

In other news, Monster Hunter Wilds has announced a new collaboration with Fender. A custom-designed guitar was made available to buy earlier this year and during an upcoming limited-time event, players will be able to rock out on the instrument within the hit game.
