SHINee member Minho has released a music video for ‘Chase’, the lead single off his debut solo mini-album of the same name.

On December 12, the SHINee star unveiled the music video to ‘Chase’, the title track of his debut solo record. The music video arrives alongside the physical release of Minho’s debut EP, which saw a digital release last week (December 6).

The new visual begins with a flashback as Minho gazes at his lover in bed. We later catch a glimpse of his present state, where he is bloody and bruised. The music video goes on to chronicle Minho’s downfall following the loss of his lover as his behaviour turns erratic and violent.

When I open my eyes, I dream again / Like there’s no end / I keep running, running / Running, running, run,” he sings on the chorus of the new R&B-inspired single.

‘Chase’ also includes the song ‘Heartbreak’, which Minho previously released via SM Entertainment‘s SM Station project earlier this year. Notably, the B-sides ‘Runaway’ and ‘Waterfall’ include features by rapper GEMINI and singer Lim Kim respectively. Other songs on the record are ‘Prove It’ and ‘Choice’.

The new record marks Minho’s official debut as a soloist, nearly 15 years after his debut in SHINee. However, the singer had previously also released the song ‘I’m Home’ for SM Entertainment’s SM Station project, as well as two Japanese-language tracks ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Falling Free’ earlier this year.

With the release of ‘Chase’, Minho is now the fifth and final member of SHINee to make his debut as a soloist. Taemin had been the first member of the boyband to release his solo record ‘Ace’ in 2014. The late Jonghyun later released ‘Base’ the following year, while Onew and Key both released their debut solo projects in 2018.
