Rod Stewart pulls out of huge Las Vegas gig hours before stage time
Rod Stewart has been forced to pull out of a huge Las Vegas gig hours before stage time.
The 80-year-old musician was set to perform at the iconic Colosseum venue at Caesars Palace tonight (June 2). In a new update shared on social media, he has confirmed that it will no longer be going ahead due to health concerns.
“I am sorry to inform you that I’m not feeling well and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10,” he shared on Instagram. “Your tickets will be valid for the new date. Sir Rod.”
The ‘Sailing’ singer did not share details about the illness at hand, although with the show being rescheduled for less than two weeks, it seems as though the health update will not affect his upcoming slot at Glastonbury.
The singer-songwriter is set to appear in the coveted Legends Slot on Sunday afternoon at this year’s festival – joining a stacked bill that will include The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo as headliners. You can see the full line-up so far here.

In the run up to the show, Stewart has confirmed that his Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood will join him on stage for the huge slot. It comes after 2020 saw the trio regroup to perform a live rendition of their song ‘Stay With Me’ at the BRITs, and amid hints from Wood that they had “been recording some new Faces music”.
Before then, the ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy’ singer said it was “a great honour” to be taking on the Legends Slot at the Worthy Farm festival, but explained: “It’s going to cost me a fortune to do it – $300,000 [£222,071].”
Tonight’s show isn’t the only one Stewart has been forced to cancel due to health issues in recent years. Last year the singer scrapped what would have been his 200th show in Las Vegas after contracting strep throat – a condition that can lead to a sore throat, rash, nausea and muscle aches.
In other news around the ‘Maggie May’ hitmaker, last week (May 27), Stewart was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award at the American Music Awards, which had returned after a two-year hiatus.
At the ceremony – which was hosted by Jennifer Lopez – Janet Jackson received the Icon Award and Zac Brown was presented with the inaugural Veterans Voice Award. See the full list of winners here.
