Rocket go “above and beyond” on soaring new single ‘One Million’
Rocket have returned with their soaring new single ‘One Million’ and have announced UK, European and North American tour dates.
It is the Los Angeles band and former NME Cover stars’ first new single since signing for Transgressive Records / Canvasback, the label that also re-released their debut EP ‘Versions Of You’ earlier this year.
‘One Million’ sees singer Alithea Tuttle’s slacker vocals tussle with Desi Scaglione and Baron Rinzler’s searing, skyscraping guitars for a nostalgic trip through grunge, shoegaze and several other strands of vintage alt-rock.
Speaking about the track, the band have said: “‘One Million’ is about wanting someone to meet you halfway but not knowing if they ever will. It’s the feeling of doing everything you can, going above and beyond for someone, knowing that you would wait a million years for them just to notice how important they are to you. It’s the hoping that maybe you are as important to them as well. It’s learning to be okay with the fact that you might always love them more.”

The former NME Cover stars previously opened up to NME about the creation of their music. Scaglione shared: “Our taste varies so much that in order to keep making the music we want to make, we felt like we had to introduce some new elements to our songwriting.” Tuttle added: “We tried not to lean on any one genre but rather incorporate everything we love as musicians into something that feels uniquely our own.”
