Reneé Rapp teases upcoming tour with tabloid inspired campaign

Reneé Rapp appears to have teased an upcoming tour with a series of social media posts inspired by early 2000s tabloids.

The pop culture-inspired teaser seemingly called back to the arrest of Justin Timberlake for drunk driving. Last year, it was reported that the police officer who arrested the singer allegedly did not recognise the popstar, with Timberlake allegedly saying it would “ruin” his tour.

A source alleged to Page Six at the time: “Justin said under his breath, ‘This is going to ruin the tour.’ The cop replied, ‘What tour?’ Justin said, ‘The world tour.’” Now, Rapp has used that soundbite in a series of images that show her standing in front of newspaper stands.

Captioning the photos: “This is going to ruin the tour”, the headlines behind her read “That’s a Rapp!”, and show the pop artist caught “getting MAD in LA hotel”. Fans have since shared clearer images of the paper, with one headline notably referencing “Rapp’s travel plans this fall”.

“Looks like London isn’t the only place on Rapp’s itinerary”, it continued. “We’ve got our hands on the star’s steamy vacation plans between 9/23 – 10/29” – seemingly confirming Rapp has upcoming dates between September and October.

“These vacation dates are starting to look suspiciously like tour stops,” it added, “so the real question is, will she be coming to your city?”

The teaser comes after Rapp announced her second album ‘Bite Me’ earlier this year. The follow-up to 2023’s ‘Snow Angel’ will be released on August 1 via Interscope Records in the US and Polydor in the UK – you can pre-order/pre-save it here.

Rapp had been steadily teasing ‘Bite Me’ in a similar fashion to the potential tour, unveiling a new website which urged fans to “sign NDAs” that then revealed hints about the album. Posts from the likes of Paris HiltonCharlize Theron and Monica Lewinsky also teased at the upcoming record.

Fans had their first taste of the new era with ‘Leave Me Alone’, a provocative, and rebellious pop banger that opens with Rapp singing: “I’m a real bad girl but a real good kisser/Leave me alone, bitch, I wanna have fun”.

Elsewhere, earlier this month, Rapp reacted to the news of Tory Lanez‘s stabbing in prison, quipping “maybe we should be stabbing more”.

The singer and Means Girls actor made the comments in a new interview with Ziwe, where she was asked how she felt about news that the rapper had been attacked while in prison.

Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson) is currently serving 10 years in prison after being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. Last month, it was reported that he was attacked by a fellow inmate at the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi; stabbed 14 times, with both of his lungs reportedly collapsing and him requiring a breathing apparatus.

“I feel like a lot of people get stabbed and that’s OK,” Rapp said in the interview. “Maybe we should be doing it more. Maybe we should be stabbing more […] Shiv in the pocket.”
