Red Velvet’s Irene & Seulgi announce comeback with second mini-album, ‘TILT’

Red Velvet‘s Irene & Seulgi have announced their comeback as a sub-unit – find out more below.

The two members have announced their second mini-album, ‘TILT’. Released via SM Entertainment, ‘TILT’ is scheduled to arrive on May 26 at 6PM KST (or 9am GMT). The pair have also released a brand film for the upcoming mini-album.

The brand film sees the two musicians bask in the shadows, as flowers are set aflame, plates are smashed and berries are stepped on, creating a unique visual of black and white aesthetics with a splash of red.

SM Entertainment previously revealed that the pair would be making a comeback together via an earnings release report for Q4 2024 published in February. At the time, the only release window the company confirmed for new Irene & Seulgi music was the second quarter of 2025.

Irene & Seulgi’s new mini-album will mark their first music release as a unit in nearly five years. The duo first debuted as a sub-unit of the band in 2020 with the release first mini-album ‘Monster’.

‘TILT’ will arrive just two months after Seulgi dropped with her sophomore solo album ‘Accidentally On Purpose’, featuring lead single ‘Baby, Not Baby’. Irene herself was the fourth and most recent member of the quintet to go solo, with the release of her first mini-album ‘Like A Flower’ in November.

It also comes after SM Entertainment announced the departure of bandmates Wendy and Yeri from its roster of artists, following the expiration of both their contracts. However, the label clarified that “as members of Red Velvet”, the two K-pop idols will still be “working with us for their group activities”.

Irene & Seulgi have also announced their upcoming 2025 ‘Balance’ Asia tour, featuring concerts in Singapore, Macau, Bangkok and more – see the dates and get tickets here.
