Reba McEntire’s ‘The Voice’ Contestants Go Head-to-Head With a Performance of Her 1993 Hit

The Voice is officially in the battle rounds, and Reba McEntire’s team members Jackson Snelling and Jordan Rainer went head-to-head to perform a Reba classic.

The two traded verses in an emotional rendition of McEntire’s 1993 collaboration with Vince Gill, “The Heart Won’t Lie.” The song was nominated for best country vocal collaboration that year. Following the performance, judges Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani thought Rainer won the battle, while John Legend picked Snelling.

But ultimately, the final decision comes down to McEntire. “Jordan and Jackson, thank y’all very much for being so coachable,” she told the duo. “I can tell a drastic difference from when we were in there rehearsing to now. Jackson, you did such a good job. You’re smiling, you’re cute as a button and I just love you to pieces. Every time I see you, you’re just so friendly and open, and you’re voice is the same way. Jordan, you did take the glasses off because we wanted to see your eyes. That was a wise decision on your part. You did a great job, your vocals were wonderful.”
