PS Plus May 2024 games: here’s what’s being added and removed so far
The PS Plus May 2024 games being added to the service are yet to be confirmed, but so far it’s looking rough as many titles will be leaving the service – with some of the biggest departures including several Final Fantasy games, 2023 shooter Immortals Of Aveum, and Minecraft Legends. Yet there are still plenty of great games available on the service for Essential members – and at least one promising new release on the way – and a wide selection for Extra and Premium members.
In this article, you can find a rundown of everything you need to know about May’s lineup so far, including which games will be leaving the service. You don’t have long to finish them so be sure to wrap up your playthroughs and Platinum trophy hunts.
PS Plus May 2024 Games
The confirmed PS Plus May 2024 games so far are:
- EA Sports FC 24 – PS5, PS4 (Essential – available from May 7, 2024)
- Ghostrunner 2 – PS5 (Essential – available from May 7, 2024)
- Tunic – PS5, PS4 (Essential – available from May 7, 2024)
- Destiny 2 Lightfall – PS5, PS4 (Essential – available from May 7, 2024)
- Animal Well – PS5 (Extra, Premium – available from May 9, 2024)
The full lineup of Essential games will be revealed on May 1, 2024, with the rest of the Extra and Premium games unveiled properly on May 15, 2024. This will follow the usual pattern of announcements, ahead of the games being made available on May 7, 2024, and May 21, 2024, respectively.
EA Sports FC 24
This year’s football game from EA, FC 24 is the first title available this month. Generally considered a positive improvement for the series, this is the first time the series hasn’t used the FIFA license and it comes with all the modes and features you would expect.
Ghostrunner 2
Despite only releasing around 7 months ago, Ghostrunner 2 is already being given away to Essential PS Plus members and up. This breakneck, action-packed slasher sees you parkour across rooftops and between buildings destroying enemies with one swipe of your sword. But, be careful, as one hit and you will have to restart the section you are on.
Tunic
We gave Tunic 4 out of 5 stars in our review and since its release, it has become a beloved indie darling. Adventuring across a vibrant land as a little fox you will take on monsters and creatures, explore caves and dungeons, and learn the game’s unique language with each step you take and character you talk to.
Destiny 2 Lightfall
Ahead of The Final Shape, Sony is giving away last year’s Destiny 2 expansion, Lightfall. While it met mixed reception, it is a necessary part of the story if you are looking to return to the sci-fi shooter in June. So, you can catch up for free in May.
Animal Well
Animal Well takes place in a surreal, forsaken labyrinth. Tasked with discovering a mysterious, non-linear, interconnected world as you solve puzzles in over 250 rooms you will rely on your wits to avoid danger. Free of combat, this metroidvania is pretty unique compared to everything else and you will have to avoid creatures both beautiful and unsettling while manipulating the pixel-art world.

These games will disappear sometime throughout the month, likely on May 21, 2024, when a whole bunch of new games get added to the Extra and Premium tiers. But we will update this when the date is officially confirmed.
