Poliça announce new album ‘Dreams Go’ and share soothing title track
Poliça have announced plans to release new album ‘Dreams Go’ and have shared the ambient title track – check it out below.
Set for release on October 17th via Memphis Industries, the LP is the Minneapolis band’s sixth and first since 2022’s ‘Madness’. You can pre-order it here.
Recorded at Pachyderm Studio in Minnesota with band producer Ryan Olson, the eight-track album was written and recorded in the months following bassist Chris Bierden’s glioblastoma diagnosis. These were his final sessions with the band before he lost his ability to play.
He has since been replaced by new bassist Alex Nutter.
The first taster from the record ‘Dreams Go’ is “an anthem for the dreams we swallow, bury away while life goes on without them,” according to frontwoman Channy Leaneagh. You can listen to it below.
According to a press release: ‘Dreams Go doesn’t just memorialise the past – it propels the band into the next phase of their evolution, proving that reinvention has always been part of their DNA.
“Though born of grief, ‘Dreams Go’ is anything but static. It stands as a moving testament to the band’s creative bond – and to Bierden’s indelible role within it.”
The full tracklisting for the record is as follows:
1. ‘Carlines’
2. ‘Wound Up’
3. ‘Revival’
4. ‘Creeping’
5. ‘Wasted Me’
6. ‘Li5a’
7. ‘She Knows Me’
8. ‘Dreams Go’
Their last record ‘Madness’ received a four star review from NME which summed up “their first decade as a band with a neatly formed, bite-sized package”.
It added: “There are stomping beats on ‘Violence’, ambient textures on the title track and the percussive rhythms of ‘Blood’ on show, everything the band have done so well for the past decade. ‘Madness’ is also an album that looks to the future, though.”
