Offset Quashes Rumors of Quavo Beef With Sweet Birthday Post: ‘Love You 4L [for life]’

Offset bluntly shut down persistent rumors of an alleged beef with his Migos bandmate Quavo on Tuesday when he posted a brief, but loving message to Q on his 33rd birthday. HipHopDX posted a screenshot of an Instagram Story from Offset in which he wrote, “Happy gday my brother @quavohuncho love you 4L [for life].”

The message came with a throwback photo of the trio as young men. The Atlanta trio formed in 2008 has had a rocky few years, beginning in 2022, when Offset appeared to suggest there was conflict in the group on his song “Messy,” releasing a video for the track one day after his cousin, Takeoff, was killed in a shooting at a bowling alley in Houston; the track was credited to the pair’s side project, Unc & Phew, whose only album was Only Built For Infinity Links.

Shortly after, the pair reportedly got into a scuffle backstage at the 65th annual Grammy Awards, which Offset denied in a post. “What tf look like fighting my brother yal n—as is crazy,” Offset tweeted at the time without naming names. At the time, according to TMZ, the Migos bandmates allegedly squared off backstage because Quavo reportedly blocked Offset from performing onstage with him for “Without You,” the former’s tribute song to Takeoff.

Migos’ most recent album was 2021’s Culture and in an Oct. 2023 interview with Hot 97, Offset appeared to confirm that the group had broken up, saying that it was not due to any issues with Quavo, but because of the death of the “glue” that held them together, Takeoff.
