Oasis want your stories for “song that has deep meaning for you” for ‘Live 25’ film
A film studio has opened submissions for Oasis fans to share their stories relating to the band’s music for the forthcoming film Live 25.
Peaky Blinders director Steven Knight is working as a producer on a film with Magna Studios in association with Oasis exploring “how this band’s music has become so important to so many” to coincide with their long-awaited reunion tour. It is being directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace – known for the LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up And Play The Hits.
“We are asking people all over the world if there is a particular Oasis song that has deep meaning for you. A song that tells the story of a life changing moment, a love, a loss, a heartbreak, or a break for freedom,” the studio said.
“Whatever the Oasis song, whatever the story – tell us…”
You can submit your personal story here.
The studio confirmed they would be directing the official Oasis film in March.
The news comes as Liam Gallagher confirmed he has joined rehearsals for the upcoming tour, which marks their first gigs together in 16 years. Their reunion will kick off with a run of UK and Ireland dates with Richard Ashcroft and Cast, including seven dates at London’s Wembley Stadium.
They will later head to stadiums across North America, South America, Australia and Asia.
The frontman shared the news on Twitter/X earlier this week (June 3), writing: “We have LIFT OFF Rastas sounded fucking FILTHY I’ll tell thee that there for hardly anything LG x
Then, responding to a fan who asked if it was “emotional” playing with everyone for the first time in 16 years, Liam wrote: “No time to get emotional we have a lot of catching up to do.” To another, who asked if he was nervous, he responded: “Dont be ridiculous”.
Last month, Noel and the rumoured live band line-up – which was previously revealed to NME by a source close to the shows – were photographed entering a London studio where they reportedly rehearsed for six hours.
The line-up included Beady Eye alumnus and longtime collaborator Gem Archer, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, keyboardist Mikey Rowe, and bassist Andy Bell, who also confirmed he would be returning to the fold. Joe Waronker – believed to be one of the “new faces” that Liam teased back in September – is also rumoured to be joining the tour, but wasn’t photographed.
It is believed that the brothers don’t want to be seen together until July 4, when they kick off their UK tour at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
