Oasis share photo and video tribute to fans on Gallagher Hill near Heaton Park: “You’re the outcast, you’re the underclass, but you don’t care…”

Oasis at Manchester's Heaton Park

Oasis have paid tribute to the ticketless fans who gathered on ‘Gallagher Hill’ to listen to their recent shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park. See the video and photos below.

The Britpop band wrapped up a five-night residency at the park last Sunday (July 20), as part of their huge Live ’25 reunion tour.

As the first Manchester gigs got underway, many fans who were unsuccessful at securing tickets took to a nearby field overlooking Heaton Park – where they could see the big screens and hear Oasis performing.

However, the view was later obstructed for the final three shows on July 16, 19 and 20.  Manchester City Council erected a fence at the location to “dissuade people from gathering there”, and protect livestock and recently planted trees. This caused a backlash among some fans.

At the penultimate Heaton Park concert, Liam Gallagher dedicated ‘Bring It On Down’ to those who were gathered at ‘Gallagher Hill’. Then, at the final homecoming date, Oasis sent official ‘Gallagher Hill’ T-shirts to fans at the site and live-streamed the action from the hill on the stage’s big screens.

“I want you lot on the hill to be getting involved as well – even if you are Man United fans,” Liam said ahead of ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’. Noel added: “We’re going live to ‘Gallagher Hill'”.

Now, have shared an official video of what went down on ‘Gallagher Hill’. The visuals show police officers, fans making their way to the field en masse, and a member of Oasis’ team handing out tees.

We also see fans posing in the shirts, climbing a tree and scaling a gate. There’s also footage of someone playing an acoustic guitar and another shaking a tambourine. Tune in here:

In a separate post, Oasis shared a series of black-and-white images from ‘Gallagher Hill’. They captioned this upload with some lyrics from ‘Bring It On Down’: “You’re the outcast/ You’re the underclass/ But you don’t care, because you’re living fast…

After the security measures were put in place at ‘Gallagher Hill’, hundreds of ticketless fans were seen scaling the fence in a bid to catch a glimpse of Oasis on stage. Meanwhile, others went to The Ostrich pub, across the road from Heaton Park, where they could listen to the gig.

Some got more creative, trying their hand at using “fake accreditation” to get inside the park. This led to multiple arrests by Greater Manchester Police, while others attempted to force their way through a perimeter fence.

However, police later praised the “overwhelming majority” of “sensible and responsible” fans at Heaton Park ahead of Oasis’ final two hometown shows last weekend. They also highlighted the “issues” they had faced at the previous dates.

Oasis will play the first of seven nights at Wembley Stadium this Friday (July 25), before heading to Edinburgh and Dublin next month. Ticketless fans in London have been warned that they’ll be “moved on” if they congregate outside Wembley.

From there, Oasis will play massive comeback gigs in North AmericaSouth AmericaAustraliaSouth Korea and Japan.

At the first of the band’s 2025 reunion shows, NME gave their performance in Cardiff a glowing five-star review: “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century.

“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.”

In other news, a teenage boy who praised Southport killer Axel Rudakubana has appeared in court after allegedly planning an attack at the first show of Oasis’ reunion tour.

Elsewhere at Heaton Park, Liam Gallagher joked about Coldplay’s viral “kiss cam” incident: “Doesn’t matter to us who you’re fucking mingling with, or tingling with, or fingering with. It’s none of our fucking business.”
