Morgan Wallen Reacts to Fans Booing at Taylor Swift Mention at Indianapolis Show

A comment Morgan Wallen made about Taylor Swift elicited boos from the crowd at a recent stop of his One Night at a Time Tour in Indianapolis.

The country star, playing back-to-back nights on April 4-5 at the Indiana city’s Lucas Oil Stadium, made a comment on stage that his show had set a record at the venue.

“They told me right before I walked on stage that this is the single most attended concert in the history of this building,” Wallen announced to cheers, as seen in a fan-filmed clip from the show below. “And that we’re the first people to do it two nights in a row, so thank you for making it possible for me to say that.”

“I’m gonna say that ’til Taylor Swift comes to town in the fall,” the singer quipped, predicting the likelihood of Swift breaking his attendance record when she brings The Eras Tour to Lucas Oil Stadium for three consecutive nights in November.

His comment about a fellow chart-topper with country roots seemed lighthearted enough, but some concertgoers could be heard loudly booing in response.

“We ain’t gotta boo. We ain’t gotta boo,” Wallen quickly said, but then indicated he was thankful for his fans’ support. “I appreciate that. I know you all got my back though.”

While Wallen was on the road this week for the 2024 leg of his world tour, Swift’s on a short break from hers to focus on the April 19 release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. With it arriving in less than a “Fortnight” — which happens to be the title of the Post Malone-assisted opening track of her new album — Swift is counting down the days until the new music is in the hands of fans. On Saturday (April 6), Swift took to an Instagram Story to share a clip of a typewriter writing, “13 days until THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT.”
