MGK Shares the Lengthy Process of Getting a Blackout Tattoo

In February, MGK (formerly Machine Gun Kelly) debuted his massive blackout tattoo that covers up most of his torso and, on Monday (April 1), the rocker took fans into the arduous process of getting the ink done.

The star chose tattoo artist Roxx for the project, which spanned, as expected, over multiple sessions. “This is the most painful s— I’ve ever experienced,” MGK said two weeks into the process. He captioned the post, “So…what else should i get now?”

The “Bloody Valentine” rocker took to Instagram on Tuesday (Feb. 20) to show off his new ink, a massive blackout tattoo that covers his chest and arms. The negative space on the chest area shows a cross, while his arms create a peek at his previous tattoos. His old ink on his stomach is still visible, including his “Locals Only” piece and “I want change” tattoo.

“For spiritual purposes only,” he captioned the post, which you can see here.

The star is fresh off a new joint Genre : Sadboy EP with Trippie Redd, which arrived on Friday (March 29).
The EP is free of guest features outside of an appearance from JID and boasts 10 tracks in total including their pensive “lost boys” single. MGK’s last album, 2022’s Mainstream Sellout, debuted at No. 1 atop the Billboard 200 with 93,000 album units sold.
