Megan Thee Stallion brands Tory Lanez a “demon” amid claims her best friend shot her instead

Megan Thee Stallion has responded to Tory Lanez‘s claim that her former friend Kelsey Harris was responsible for the 2020 shooting that he was convicted of.

In 2022, ‘Say It’ rapper Lanez was convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in her feet while she left a party held at Kylie Jenner’s house in the summer of 2020.

He was found guilty of all three charges pegged against him: one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm; one count of carrying a concealed, loaded, and unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and one charge of discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and in 2023, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Lanez – real name Daystar Peterson – was attacked in prison on May 12 by a fellow inmate at the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi. He was reportedly stabbed 14 times, with both of his lungs apparently collapsing and requiring the rapper to use a breathing apparatus.

Despite being convicted, he has maintained his innocence from behind bars, with Stereogum noting that a campaign protesting his imprisonment has grown in numbers of late. The likes of Drake, Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign, Amber Rose, Trippie Redd, Kodak Black and more all signing a petition asking California Governor Gavin Newsom to pardon him.

Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna took to X/Twitter to share the petition, alleging that Lanez’s sentence was based on “flawed evidence, political pressure, and prosecutorial bias. Justice must be blind — not driven by headlines.”

The petition circulating social media alleged there was “no physical evidence Tory Lanez fired a gun” and that while “gunshot residue was found on both Kelsey Harris and Tory Lanez”, but claims only his DNA was tested against it.

It goes on to claim, Bradlie James – Harris’ former bodyguard – had provided a sworn affidavit stating he heard Harris admit to firing the gun in the air. Lanez then reportedly intervened, grabbed her hand, and pushed it down as the gun fired two more times. James recalled her saying, “How can I not tell on myself?”.

In a separate post, Luna alleged there was “compelling” evidence suggesting Lanez was innocent, writing: “Those who rushed to call for his incarceration, and worse yet pushed false evidence, should prepare to be held accountable.”

Megan – who successfully obtained a five-year restraining order against Lanez in January – has now responded in a text post shared to her TikTok.

“At what point are yall gonna stop making me have to re live being shot BY TORY !? At what point are Tory and yall FANS gonna stop lying?” the Houston rapper’s post began.

“Like how much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY? One min him/ yall said I was never shot now yall letting him play in yall face AGAIN and say I was shot but it wasn’t him oh okay… ?!” she continued.

Megan opened up about the incident in her documentary Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words. She also issued a “final” response to the incident in 2023, reflecting on the “humiliation” she faced from the public when coming forward with the claims and saying people treated her trauma “like a running joke”.

Echoing that sentiment, she continued: “I’m sick of this shit LEAVE ME TF ALONE!!!! HE AINT DARE GET ON THAT STAND AND DENY HE SHOT ME AND THAT WAS HIS CHOICE BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE DID THAT SHIT! IDGAF ABT A BLOG OR A BOT!!! WHY IN TF WOULD ME … MEGAN THEE STALLION HAVE TO LIE ON THIS MF ABT SHOOTING ME!”

As for Lanez’s denial of the incident, she reaffirmed: “FACTS ARE FACTS, he did it, it was PROVEN IN COURT fuck the hate campaign on the internet TORY YOU SHOT ME !! Ain’t no new fucking evidence yall been saying the same shit for years.”

She ended the post pleading with the Canadian rapper to leave her alone, calling him a “fucking demon.”
