Madonna “was down” to mud wrestle Miranda Kerr for Miley Cyrus music video
Miley Cyrus has said Madonna “was down” to mud wrestle Miranda Kerr for the music video to her song ‘4×4’.
The ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer was speaking to the Every Single Album podcast when she revealed that the Queen of Pop had agreed to take part in the shoot, only for her label RCA to shut down the possibility.
The video in question would have been for the song ‘4×4’, from her 2013 album ‘Bangerz’, and she had planned for it to be a star-studded affair.
“I had everyone already lined up,” she said. “Nelly…Madonna was down to do the video, Miranda Cosgrove. This was before Taylor [Swift] had a lot of famous people in her crew. I was friends with famous people first. I wanted to do that. I had a fucking squad, and my squad was very, very cool.”
“Madonna was down to mud wrestle with Miranda Kerr,” she added, referring to the Australian model and entrepreneur. “I was like, ‘I’m gonna get all these girls, all these supermodels, all these Victoria’s Secret models and all of these pop icons to come to my dad’s farm, get in the back of 4x4s, and we’re gonna mud wrestle, and we’re gonna go out and do doughnuts’.”
Elsewhere, Cyrus was recently heckled at a screening of her new Something Beautiful film by fans who had come expecting a live performance.
“Are you actually going to sing?” shouted one displeased fan, leading to Cyrus calming the situation by singing an a cappella version of her 2009 hit ‘The Climb’.
As for Madonna, she has announced the release of her long-rumoured ‘Veronica Electronica’ album. Originally conceived in 1998 as a companion to the ‘Ray Of Light’ album, the collection of rare and unreleased mixes and demos will be out on July 25 and you can pre-order here.
She has also been hinting at the possibility of new music arriving before the end of the year. Last October, she revealed she had been working with producer Stuart Price again, and in February, she told fans that the end result may be a second part to her album ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’.
Last month, it was also reported that the singer may be working on a show based on her life for Netflix, and teaming up with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy for the limited series.
