The actor has enjoyed a long relationship with The Beach Boys dating back to the 1980s. On the band’s 1992 album ‘Summer in Paradise’, Stamos performed a new rendition of their 1971 song ‘Forever’, which he would then go on to perform on at least three episodes of sitcom Full House.

The album was led by the single ‘Hot Fun in the Summertime’, where its music video featured Stamos playing drums with the band. Over the decades since, Stamos has appeared with the band on occasion, including in an episode of Dancing with the Stars.

The current iteration of The Beach Boys will not feature founding member Brian Wilson, who retired from touring in 2022. Wilson was recently placed under a court conservatorship due to a “major neurocognitive disorder”.

This Friday (May 24) will also see the release of The Beach Boys, a documentary about the band directed by Frank Marshall. The film will be a “celebration of the legendary band that revolutionised pop music and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream”.
