How to download and play the ‘XDefiant’ server test this weekend

XDefiant Server Test: A soldier can be seen

After radio silence for half a year, XDefiant is back and Ubisoft is hosting a new test this weekend which you can play no matter the platform you are on.

The XDefiant Server Test will be the latest beta/test for the game after several were held in 2023 throughout the year.

You can download the XDefiant Server Test from Ubisoft Connect, the PlayStation Store, or the Microsoft Store. You don’t need to have a code to play, and the test is available to everyone – you can find a link to each of these storefronts below:

The server test will run from Friday, April 19 at 6 PM BST / 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET until Sunday, April 21 – 6 PM BST / 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. The content available during previous tests in 2023 will be available again as Ubisoft stress tests the servers, however, there will be some new rewards.

These are the MP5 Shamrock Weapon Skin for playing in the test and the M9 Ember Weapon Skin for playing in a party. Finally, reaching Level 18 will net you three Weapon XP Boosters at launch.

XDefiant has had a long and rocky road until now and its upcoming launch. Originally set to launch in 2023, the game was delayed indefinitely. However, the game is finally set to release sometime this year providing the team doesn’t run into any issues.

Originally announced years ago, the game was received incredibly positively during tests in 2023 and a lot of hype was building for its release, especially within the Call of Duty community – as community sentiment for the franchise has fluctuated in recent years.

However, Mark Rubin, the game’s executive producer has confirmed the delays weren’t due to trying to make the game more like Call of Duty.
