Ho99o9 announce new album ‘Tomorrow We Escape’ with angsty single ‘Upside Down’
American rap-punk outfit Ho99o9 have announced a new album, ‘Tomorrow We Escape’, and shared angsty new single ‘Upside Down’.
Ho99o9 (pronounced ‘horror’) have confirmed that the new album is due to be released on September 9, and also release a music video for the new single ‘Upside Down’ which depicts a dystopian future where water is seen as a black market commodity.
Made up of theOGM and Yeti Bones, the New Jersey pair said that the next album is as personally charged as it is politically motivated.
“When we started this process, we knew we wanted to make more relatable songs,” says theOGM. “It was a healthy challenge to focus on emotion. In the past, a lot of our material was politically charged. That element is present to a degree, but we wanted to take a more personal route. This mindset drove how we wrote songs. Everybody has a struggle. The goal is to find motivation for preservation.”

The duo’s 2022 album ‘Skin’, which was produced by Travis Barker, received four stars in a review from NME. It was commended for its musical experimentation and ability to “push forward modern anarchical sounds to liberate those that can’t find it in mainstream music.”
It reads: “Opening up the definition of rap-rock, TheOGM and Eaddy prove that you can hold yourself to the same intricate lyrical standards of rap, while sounding closer to the rockstars they grew up falling in love with.”
Back in January, Ho99o9 performed two tracks on COLORS, ‘Bad Vibes’ and ‘Bald Eagle Britney’. This was also the first time a new album was teased, however no dates or details were given at the time.
However, upon the release of the COLORS performance the pair took to X to say that the new songs wouldn’t be appearing on their new album. They wrote: “These songs will not be on the next horror album, they’re actually just tracks of us in the studio messing around having fun. This just the tip of the iceberg,” they added.
