Here’s every song on the ‘War Dogs’ soundtrack

Todd Phillips’ 2016 black comedy War Dogs is coming to Netflix this week, but what songs are included on the film’s soundtrack? Read on for all the details.

The film follows the story of two arms dealers, played by Jonah Hill and Miles Teller, who receive a contract from the US army to supply weapons for the Afghan army worth $300million.

It was based on a 2011 Rolling Stone article by Guy Lawson named ‘Arms and the Dudes’, which Lawson later expanded into a novel of the same name.

Also starring Ana de Armas and Bradley Cooper, who also produces, it was Phillips’ first directorial effort after completing the Hangover trilogy in 2013. He went on to direct 2019’s Joker, and its forthcoming sequel Joker: Folie à Deux.

At the time of the film’s release, Teller spoke to NME about the film’s damning depiction of war as a money-making industry. Comparing his character David Packouz’s philosophy to his own, Teller said: “I never looked at war the way these guys do. I never thought of war as a way for small businesses to capitalise.”

“There are gun dealers that love when war’s going on because they just look at it as dollar signs. It’s an interesting variable to add in, but for me war will always be about the sacrifice these guys and women are making and the effect that has on their families.”

Who composed the score for War Dogs?

The film’s original score was composed by former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Cliff Martinez. Now a prolific film composer, he is known for his contributions to a number of movies by Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Sex, Lies and Videotape, Contagion) and Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives, The Neon Demon).
