Dave Grohl has joined Norah Jones to play some Foo Fighters rarities on her podcast – listen below.

The Foo Fighters frontman has previously collaborated with the jazz singer on the song ‘Virginia Moon’, which appeared 2005 album ‘In Your Honour‘. The duo performed a cover of the song in the podcast below. They also paired up for a cover of ‘Razor’, which was taken from the same album.

Jones also joined Grohl on a duet of ‘Flame Twin’, taken from her 2020 album ‘Pick Me Up Off The Floor’. The pair interpolated Nirvana‘s ‘In Bloom’ towards the end of the cover as well.

Grohl also played Foo Fighters classics ‘Everlong’ and ‘The Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners’, both taken from the seminal album ‘Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace’. He also performed ‘Statues’ from the same album, which has rarely been played by Grohl before.

In recent news, Grohl appeared on Conan O’Brien’s podcast to talk about the 30th anniversary of Nirvana’s last album ‘In Utero’. There, he expanded upon why he didn’t feel “conflicted” about Nirvana’s financial success despite their DIY punk roots: “I think the reason why I didn’t feel personally conflicted was because I knew the band hadn’t done anything outside of our true selves to get there,” Grohl told O’Brien.

The Foo Fighters are currently on tour, where they have invited several special guests to perform with them. In Austin City Limits, Shania Twain made a surprise appearance to perform ‘Best Of You’, whilst the Foo Fighters joined The Breeders on stage later to cover Pixies‘ track ‘Gigantic’.

The band also announced a 2024 stadium tour, where they will return to the New York Citi stadium for the first time since 2015. You can find all ticket details here.
