The bookies’ odds have been shared for bands who will play secret sets at Glastonbury 2025, and betting has been suspended on two huge names.

The iconic festival will be returning to Worthy Farm in Somerset next week, and running between June 25 and 29. Headliners are Neil Young, The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo on the Pyramid Stage, and Loyle Carner, Charli XCX and The Prodigy on the Other Stage. Rod Steward will be playing Sunday’s Legend’s Slot, and Glastonbury will then take a fallow year in 2026.

When the full line-up and day splits were unveiled earlier this month, fans noticed a number of secret sets planned – most notably there was a mysterious band called “Patchwork” who will be playing at the Pyramid Stage on Saturday.

There’s also a glaring ‘TBA’ at the Pyramid stage on Friday before Alanis Morrissette‘s set, a mystery show at the Woodsies on Friday at 11.30am, and a Saturday gap at the Park Stage in between Gary Numan and Beth Gibbons.

For the ‘Patchwork’ gig, it is heavily rumoured that the act set to perform will either be Britpop legends Pulp or Kiwi pop star Lorde.

For Pulp, the potential appearance would come after they headlined the stage 30 years ago and returned in 2011 for a secret set. It would also be good timing for Jarvis Cocker and co. as they recently shared ‘More’ – their first new album in 24 years.

For Lorde, rumours emerged as she is gearing up to share her new album ‘Virgin’, and recently told Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2 that she was eager to “pull some strings” to try and make a Glasto appearance.

Betting on both artists has been suspended as they are the most likely to take on the Pyramid Stage this year, and Pulp have been given impressive odds of 1/2, while Lorde has 3/1 odds.

SecretGlasto, an X/Twitter page that has shared reliable insight into the festival in the past, has also suggested that it’ll be Pulp on the main stage. It shared a compilation of interview clips from Jarvis Cocker, talking about the festival. Check it out above.

Also heavily rumoured for a secret set this year is HAIM, who are listed on OddsChecker as having a 4/9 chance of playing at the Park Stage, the equivalent of 69 per cent. The strong odds come as the LA trio prepare to release their fourth album, ‘I Quit’, on June 20 – the Friday before this year’s festival begins. They are also in the area, as they have a one-off UK show at Dreamland Margate a week later (June 27).

Speaking on BBC Radio 2 last week, the band added fuel to the fire, saying they’d love to see Doechii on the West Holts stage, and sharing their fondness for the Park Stage.

“We love The Park Stage,” Alana said. “The Park Stage is our favourite, ’cause that was like the first time we came to Glastonbury, we got to play The Park Stage. It felt like a movie… it’s the best festival in the world.”

The gig on that stage is set for between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on the Saturday night, and if HAIM do play there, it’ll follow on from previous Glasto appearances in 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2022, as well as their set at Glasto’s Live At Worthy Farm online stream in 2021.

Rounding out the other top names predicted to make a surprise appearance this year is Ed Sheeran, who has a 1/2 (66 per cent) chance of playing his first set there since his 2017 headline slot, and Mumford & Sons, who have a 4/7 (63.6 per cent) chance of playing a secret set.

Other, less likely names are Lewis Capaldi with a 1/1 (50 per cent) chance, Robbie Williams with 2/1 (33.3 per cent), Elton John with 3/1 (25 per cent), and Radiohead with 6/1 (14.3 per cent).

The most memorable secret sets last year came from the Churnups, who turned out to be the Foo Fighters, and from Kasabian, who caused such a stir at Woodsies that the festival had to shut down the stage to prevent overcrowding.

Elsewhere, Fred Again.. played an intimate secret set at Strummerville, where he performed a repertoire of then-unreleased ambient music from his collaborative album with Brian Eno.
