Every song on ‘The Old Guard 2’ soundtrack
Charlize Theron is back as an immortal mercenary on Netflix in The Old Guard 2 – but what songs are on the film’s soundtrack? Find out below.
The follow-up to 2020’s streaming hit The Old Guard, the sequel sees Theron return as Andy, the ancient leader of a group of immortals – although this time around we see her more vulnerable as she has lost her immortality at the start of the new film.
Matthias Schoenarts (The Danish Girl, Rust And Bone) plays Booker, a French immortal who betrayed the team in the first film and now is seeking redemption. KiKi Layne, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngo and Henry Golding play fellow immortals, while Chiwetel Ejiofor and Uma Thurman co-star.
The Old Guard 2 has been written by Greg Rucka, who penned the first film, and Sarah Walker (The Twelve), and directed by Victoria Mahoney, known for her work on You, The Morning Show and Lovecraft Country.
In a four-star review of the first film, NME wrote: “Admittedly, The Old Guard checks off a series of familiar plot beats, but director Gina Prince-Bythewood makes the most of a modest budget – and brings sophistication to a run-of-the-mill action thriller by treating it like an in-depth character study. Whether or not Netflix have managed to muscle in on Marvel’s territory remains to be seen, but with so much more to learn about this unique set of characters (and a post-credits scene offers a hint at Netflix’s intentions) it would certainly be a shame if their story ended here.”
