Ed Sheeran Gets Serenaded With ‘Perfect’ by His Hometown Soccer Team

Not even soccer stars can resist Ed Sheeran‘s music. Amid the release of the British singer’s latest album, Autumn Variations, the 32-year-old has been appearing in various locations to pay fans, friends and locals a visit or sing a song, which recently brought him to his hometown soccer team, the Ipswich Town Football Club.

Town TV caught the moment between Sheeran and the soccer players, whom he joined in the locker rooms to hang out. The athletes then all began to sing “Perfect” to a bashful Sheeran, who looked onward as they embraced each other and swayed side to side while singing the romantic track.

Elsewhere during the “Magical” singer’s visit, the football club gifted him with a soccer shirt, and the performer donated a guitar to Town TV, which he signed on the air.

Though Autumn Variations is receiving promo through Sheeran’s various appearances, the project is receiving a much different rollout than his other albums. Speaking with CBS Mornings on the album’s release day, Sept. 29, the pop star said he doesn’t have plans to release any singles of music videos for the project, as he’s releasing it thorugh his independent label, Gingerbread Man Records.

“Each record before I’ve done, like, all the big going in and doing all these radio interviews, and going on the late-night shows, and doing, doing all this stuff. And this record, there’s not even a single for it. There’s not, there’s not a music video. I’m just putting it out,” he explained.
