Cher Announces First Christmas Album: ‘Are You Spending Christmas With Me?’

Get ready for a very Cher Christmas! The “Believe” singer confirmed that her first holiday album is on the way with a pair of recent Instagram posts.

“Are you spending Christmas with me? #cherchristmas,” the 77-year-old wrote via instagram last week, captioning a holiday-appropriate picture of her standing on a massive snowball wearing an oversize white button-down shirt and wide-leg blue jeans with twinkling rhinestones, with red and silver metallic ornaments floating in the air.

Cher captioned the second teaser post, shared over the weekend, “Christmas already? But I’ve got nothing to wear…” The photo featured Cher in a platinum-blond wig while wearing a metallic, sequined floor-length gown, with a frozen tundra as the backdrop. (“I can’t believe Cher just re-froze the arctic ice sheet,” one fan joked in the comments section.)

While the “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer did not reveal when the Christmas album will be released, she sat down with Good Morning Britain last week and shared additional hints about what fans can expect from the record.

“It’s a Cher Christmas album. It’s not your mother’s Christmas album,” Cher teased on the daytime program, adding that she is “really, really excited because there’s millions of people on it, and I’ve never had duets. I’ve never had people on any of my records.” The pop veteran kept mum about exactly who will be featured on the album since the collaborations were a “last-minute thing,” but did say the artist features are “special.”

For the record, one of Cher’s biggest hits of the 1980s was a duet. “After All,” which she recorded with Peter Cetera, reached No. 6 in May 1989 and went on to receive an Oscar nomination for best original song.
