"Regrets I’ve had a few – this is one," Starkey said of his missed opportunity to perform and record with the pioneering metal outfit.
"What happened was I got it right and Roger [Daltrey] got it wrong," Starkey explained of his firing from The Who.
"After many years of great work on drums from Zak the time has come for a change," Pete Townshend wrote in a social media post.
