The event taking place some 4,900 miles from Austin, Texas, builds on the legacy of the South By Southwest conference and festival launched in that city in 1987.

The conference and festival will be cut by two days while the new Austin Convention Center is under construction, with interactive, film/TV and music programs set to run concurrently.
