Launched by the New Orleans musician it's named for, the foundation recently held its 13th annual Shorty Fest fundraiser during the city's Jazz & Heritage Festival.

"The opening of today’s Jazz Fest will be delayed by one to two hours," organizers wrote on social media.
"It's about giving people an opportunity to bring their whole selves to the festival, free of shame and fear," says Bill Taylor.
