The singer also said that the "Barbie" song came at a time when she was in a "dark episode" in her life.
"I know if I really slow down and listen when I'm low there’s always something to hear," he wrote on Instagram.
The K-pop star said having a large social media following makes her feel vulnerable, particularly when people are critical.
“I wanted to help others. I wish that I had somebody when I was 13 years old and having an eating disorder and starving myself," Lovato reflected.
