Hartwig Masuch decides to move up his retirement date, with Thomas Coesfeld assuming the top job in July instead of January.
"Great artists and great music have no expiry date and we believe it is time for the music industry to reflect that," said CEO Hartwig Masuch.
The transition at the fourth biggest music company will take place on Jan. 1, 2024.
