The Laufey Foundation has awarded inaugural grants to the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, LA Phil’s YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles) program and more.
A total of $200,000 in grants will be awarded this year.
Dr. Angelina Lipman, Monte Lipman and Jennifer Bandier will be honored on April 21.
100% of proceeds from the event, which takes place on March 16 at Aviator Nation Dreamland, will go to MusiCares to aid in wildfire relief.
Dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs from underserved communities, the program’s submission window is open now.
"In addition to raising money for music people, we are proud to add these three incredible partners who are supporting the Los Angeles region in other ways," said Harvey Mason jr.
The Jan. 30 benefit concert will feature Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Stevie Nicks and many more to raise money for L.A fire victims.
The program will include mentoring and two-day immersive programs, as well as online curriculums.
The evening, held at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium, also included illusionist David Blaine and comedian Fred Armisen.
Hosting its 12th annual event tomorrow (Sept. 27), Lights on the Lawn is pumping money into good causes and serving as a training ground for students to get into the music biz.
