The janitor who stole America's heart was crowned the season 19 winner on Tuesday (Sept. 24).
Gold and the Los Osos High School dance team competed on the current season of AGT.
The dancer was 17 years old.
"If this was the Olympics for singing, you would have won the gold medal," Simon Cowell said.
Young singer Pranysqa Mishra named Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, and Whitney Houston as her musical inspirations.
"You absolutely nailed it," Simon Cowell enthused.
The singer is now in a recovery facility after being rushed to the ICU in May, his wife Lucie Zolcerva-Grimm shared.
“I think you have a very big chance to win this competition,” enthused Sofia Vergara.
"We don't know what's wrong," the musician's wife, Lucie, revealed in a video message to fans.
