BLACKPINK’s Jennie Releases Solo Track, ‘You & Me’: Stream It Now

Blinks, the wait is finally over: Jennie has released her highly anticipated solo track, “You & Me,” on Friday (Oct. 6).

“I love you and me dancing in the moonlight/ Nobody can see, it’s just you and me tonight/ I love you and me, dancing in the moonlight/ Nobody can see, it’s just you and me tonight,” she sings on the chorus.

“You & Me” drops as Jennie performs the track during the solo moments in BLACKPINK‘s Born Pink World Tour. The song also marks her second solo effort. The first came in 2018, with her official solo debut track, “Solo.” Unlike the rest of her BLACKPINK groupmates, Jennie’s latest solo track did not come as part of a solo EP like Rosé’s R, Lisa’s Lalisa, or Jisoo’s Flower.

In the time since Jennie first released solo material, BLACKPINK issued two LPs — The Album and Born Pink, which charted at No. 2 and No. 1, respectively, on the Billboard 200.

Independently of the group, Jennie scored a starring role on the Sam Levinson and The Weeknd’s The Idol. As the character Dyanne, Jennie served as the backup dancer, friend and eventual foil to the show’s main protagonist, pop star Jocelyn (played by Lily-Rose Depp). The show, however, was not renewed by Max for a second season, amid strong reactions on social media after its airing.

The new track is available to stream on all platforms, and includes a “Coachella Version.”
