Shakira
Seventeen years later, I still get the references about “Hips Don’t Lie.” ‘Shakira, your hips don’t lie!’

Narrator
Shakira is one of the hottest Latin artists in the world and her Billboard chart history proves it. In honor of the release of her upcoming album ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,’ let’s take a look back at her biggest chart achievements. This is Billboard Explains: Shakira’s Global Domination. Shakira first entered the Billboard charts with “Estoy Aqui.” The song was a big radio hit, topping the Latin Pop Airplay chart and reached No. 2 on Hot Latin Songs.

Narrator
It was the first in a long list of her hits on Hot Latin Songs, of 49 career entries so far — that’s the third most of all time for a woman, behind Karol G’s 63 and Ednita Nazario’s 53. Shakira has 21 No. 1s on Latin Airplay, the most of any female artists, and 11 projects reached the Top Latin Albums chart. Over on the Hot 100, Shakira made her chart debut with “Whenever Wherever” in 2001, which peaked at No.6.

Narrator
Of her 28 Hot 100 hits, six reached the top 10, including the Wycelf Jean collab “Hips Don’t Lie,” which was No. 1 for two weeks in 2006.

Narrator
“Beautiful Liar” with Beyoncé hit No. 3 in 2007.

And “TQG,” her collab with Karol G, peaked at No. 7 in 2023.
