A Timeline of Joey Bada$$’ Feud With Ray Vaughn and the West Coast
Joey Bada$$ and Ray Vaughn have been putting their respective coasts on their back in 2025. The two MC’s are currently engaged in a vicious feud with each other, and have been firing off high velocity diss tracks for months now.
Joey initially kicked things off on New Year’s Day, criticizing the West Coast’s impact on the rap game. While things remained quiet for months after, Vaughn bit back and invigorated the West Coast to join in, especially after his inflammatory Apple Music interview back in April.
“You know you put a target on your back,” Vaughn said of Joey’s diss track, “and the West Coast, we got a Mortal Kombat ladder. You’re not just gonna get all the way up there to die, and he was taking shots indirectly. So I just took shots directly.”
Vaughn then went on to say that the Brooklyn rapper was closer to him in status than he was to Kendrick in regards to his career and impact. Since then, it’s been all out war. West Coast and East Coast MC’s have come into the fold to stand by Vaughn and Joey, including CJ Fly, Reason, Daylyt, AZ Chike and others. The endless sparring has left no survivors in the process, with Joey even calling on Kendrick Lamar to step into the ring and get in on the action.
K-Dot has yet to respond, and while the battle initially started between Ray and Joey, it has grown to include a good handful of players on each side. It has also gotten nearly impossible to follow. Here’s a timeline of each diss track and when each one dropped.
