Sherm & Rafael Manga Team Up For Electrifying Tech House EP, ‘Can’t Stop’ via Hood Politics

Chicago native Matt Sherman, aka Sherm, has created an impressive presence both in Chicago and beyond. He’s built one of the largest electronic music podcasts from the ground up – Sherm In The Booth – and his versatile talents both DJing and as an artist have earned him coveted slots at North Coast Music Festival, Lollapalooza afterparties, while also supporting superstar touring acts like Galantis, John Summit and Armin Van Buuren.

Brazilian DJ/Producer Rafael Manga has garnered quite the buzz as well, landing releases on coveted labels such as Low Ceiling, Hood Politics, Loulou Records and even been supported by the likes of Joel Corry and Malaa. He has an innate ability to seamlessly blend house and tech house elements together in a way that leaves the listener spellbound and ready to dance at the same time.

Now, Sherm and Rafael Manga have teamed up for a whopping two track EP via Hood Politics, ‘Can’t Stop’, just in time for the weekend. The title track is fused with different elements from both Rafael and Sherm’s signature style – that low end, bumping Brazilian bass combined with Sherm’s colorful techniques of call and response. Battle tested on dance floors and approved by professionals, it’s no secret that this track HITS!

The first time I heard Rafael Manga’s music was his edit for “Whoomp There It Is” and I immediately signed it to Hood Politics. I loved his style and knew that I wanted to collab with this talented Brazilian producer. He sent me “Can’t Stop” and something clicked – this was going to be our track. So happy with how it ended up and I’m stoked to finally release it with him on Hood Politics together!”Sherm

Rafael Manga also supplies the second track of the EP with a club banger titled “Ha-Tata” – there is no such thing as a B side on Hood Poli and this track proves that once again.

“I reached out to Sherm via DM and sent Can’t Stop to him, but it was just a good backing track of instruments, but the music was missing something more important, something that would touch people’s souls, and then Sherm did magic with it, putting in what was most important, beautiful vocals and exceptional details to become a hit. Ha-tata is a song that defines my style a lot, because it has everything I like, like a solid low bass on the floor, rap vocals, and electrifying drops.” – Rafael Manga

‘Can’t Stop’ EP is the culmination of a string of remixes and edits that Sherm has released this week, including fresh flip with CHAN of Will Smith’s classic, Miami, a compelling remix with Spekter of Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina’s Stereo Love”, and a collab with another burgeoning artist aboywithabag titled Sexy Lady”.
