Channing Tatum joins ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle’ cast
Channing Tatum has been announced as joining the dub voice cast of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle.
The forthcoming big-screen entry in the beloved anime franchise will be the first of a trilogy of feature films that will represent the final arc and culmination of the shonen series, and it is due to be released into UK and Ireland cinemas on September 12.
The film, overseen by the animation studio Ufotable, will be directed by Haruo Sotozaki and the English dub voice cast will be largely comprised of the original cast from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba anime show.
It has now been revealed that they will be joined by Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street star Tatum, as well as Chinese actress Rebecca Wang, who will voice Keizo and Koyuki respectively.
Mitchel Berger, executive VP of global commerce of Crunchyroll, who will distribute the film, has said: “We are thrilled to welcome back the beloved English voice cast reprising their roles for Infinity Castle.”
“Their iconic voices have greatly contributed to the admiration of the characters and popularity of the franchise. And, we are excited to welcome Channing Tatum, who discovered his love of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and anime through watching the series with his daughter, along with Rebecca Wang as the English voices of Keizo and Koyuki.”
A sneak peek of Infinity Castle was included with the UK re-release of Dragon Slayer: Mugen Train in May. That film, originally released in 2021, served as a sequel to the original show and became the most successful Japanese release of all time, grossing over $507million at the worldwide box office.
NME’s four-star review described it as being: “Like a Gen Z horror version of Murder On The Orient Express”, writing that it: “pushes the boundaries of what makes a great anime fight scene while delving deep into the motivations of its three leads”.
In April, fans delighted at the news that five TV specials from the Demon Slayer universe that were previously available only in Japan were now streaming in the UK.
