Clipse Say Tyler, the Creator Is Their Biggest Fan: ‘Tyler Is the No. 1 Clipster’

Tyler, The Creator might be the Clipse‘s biggest fan, or at least the duo outta Virginia feel that way.

While sitting down with Ebro and Apple Music, the Thornton brothers talked to Ebro about Tyler’s guest appearance on their upcoming album Let God Sort Em Out, and Push mentioned how impressed he is when it comes to the Call Me If You Get Lost rapper’s Clipse knowledge.

“Tyler is the number one Clipster,” Pusha T proclaimed. “As a fan of the discography, Tyler is the number one Clipster. He can tell me things about albums and the time periods and any and everything, from production to raps, when it comes to Clipse albums.”

Tyler is featured on the song “P.O.V.” and has collaborated with Push before on the records “Trouble on My Mind” and “Oooh.” He’s also admitted to being a huge fan of Pharrell and The Neptunes over the years.

The Clipse recently commented on the ugly breakup currently happening between Pharrell and his former production partner Chad Hugo.

“Absolutely miss Chad, as far as, you know, being on the album,” Malice said. “I’ll see Chad in the airport, in the street, at Buffalo Wild Wings, you know, in VA. Whatever they got going on, just hope for the best. … Whenever we see each other, it’s always gonna be love. Always.”

And while Pusha admitted that he still has love for Hugo, he’s content with P handling all of the production on their first album in 15 years. “For me no,” Pusha T said after being asked if the group misses Chad in the studio. “Everybody knows my favorite album is Hell Hath No Fury. Pharrell did that alone. That’s it. … Chad’s my guy. I love Chad. Pharrell’s my guy; love Chad too. We’re brothers, we came up together. But, you know, when you say missing in the music, there is no missing in the music when it comes to the Clipse. And if it’s just P, it don’t matter — we find what we find.”

Let God Sort Em Out is set to drop Friday.
