What is up y’all, this is Billboard Unfiltered where we discuss hot button topics. Each person gets 90 seconds for their opening statements, we battle it out, I get to decide who has the best points and whoever takes the crown gets to give their unfiltered take. Today, our panelists are Carl Lamarre, Senior Director of R&B and Hip-Hop here, Angel Diaz, Senior Editor, and legendary MC, Rapsody. So today, we are going to be discussing best rapper/producer duo alright? Carl, I’m going to have you take it away first. 90 seconds on the clock, take it away

Carl Lamarre:

First off, you know, Happy Juneteenth week to my people. I think this is a pretty- I think this is going to throw people off a little bit, but hear me out here. I think the best combination, duo is Nas and Hit-Boy. And the reason why I say that is because I think they both came together in a time where they needed each other. Nas, I love you my brother, you know the vibes. He was coming off two misses off of ‘NASIR’ and ‘The Lost Tapes 2.’ Hit-Boy was in a weird place where obviously “N***as In Paris” did its thing, he was still trying to find his groove and he started to do that when he won a GRAMMY for Nipsey. RIP Nip.

Keep watching for more!
